ABOUT KARLA VAN DEN BERGH

Karla van den Bergh is an artist based in the Lowveld, South Africa. Her passion for art has been the driving force behind her creative journey. Through her artwork, she aims to evoke emotions and spark meaningful conversations. ​Karla resided in Clarens, Free State, a little town well-known for it's captivating art and scenic ambience. Here, she laid the foundations for a remarkable art career that took her all over the world. Having been an occupational therapist throughout her years as an artist, both share a common foundation: both aim to enhance human experience and expression.

 

Her love and vision for textured art is driven by the foundation of sensory regulation in occupation therapy and feels that artistic expression opens doors where words may fall short. It allows the individual to process emotions.

Her creativity fuels empathy and imagination and, in essence, her identity as an artist enriches her identity as an occupational therapist. It makes her work more vibrant, more human, and ultimately more healing. She doesn’t just help people complete tasks—she helps them rediscover joy, purpose, and creativity in their everyday lives through her art.
